HILL COUNTRY CHILDREN'S THEATER is proud to offer an assortment of activities for children and adults. Our theater productions are designed for children ages 5-16, but we do not enforce an age-limit on any show. The following is a list of our primary activities, with a brief description of each. Contact our office if you have questions or comments. SUMMER CAMPS: $ Reg. Fee Varies. Each year, we schedule one and two-week camps in different communities. The camps focuses on introducing the children to theater and public performance in a fun and exciting environment. Normally, these camps are 3 hours each day with a break half-way through. The normal Registration Fee does not apply to Summer camps. At the end of the camp, a one-act play is performed, where the children demonstrate the techniques and skills they learned. The age groups and fees are determined by the sponsoring organizations, and camps may be held at churches, schools or other, public facilities. SUMMER SHOW: $10 Reg. Fee. Our Summer Show begins rehearsals during the month of July and stages the performance in September. Performances may be in more than one location. This is normally a two-act drama, with the shortest rehearsal schedule for any in our program. There are no attendance requirements for the first half of the schedule, however, the deadline for lines and costumes is more strict. There may be more than one rehearsal each week. All shows have a very busy and involved final week of rehearsals. The Summer Show is the last show of the season and a great way to start the new, school year. As with all of our programs, great care is taken to avoid school conflicts, but they do occur. The largest issue with this show is football season. WINTER SHOW: $10 Reg. Fee. Our Winter Show begins rehearsals during the month of October and stages the performance in Jan./Feb of the next year. Performances may be in more than one location. This is normally a two-act drama with the longest rehearsal schedule for any in our program. The length is required to avoid scheduling rehearsals during the Christmas/Thanksgiving holidays. There are attendance requirements for the entire rehearsal schedule, however, the deadline for lines and costumes is significantly later in the schedule than other shows. Make-up days and Optional Rehearsals allow more flexibility for family schedule conflicts. There may be more than one rehearsal each week early in the show, but one is usually optional. All shows have a very busy and involved final week of rehearsals. The Winter Show is the first show of the season, and often our largest and most complex. More time is taken to instruct the participants in multiple aspects of the theater (eg. lights, sound and make-up). As with all of our programs, great care is taken to avoid school conflicts, but they do occur. The largest issue with this show is stock show. SPRING SHOW: $10 Reg. Fee. Our Spring Show begins rehearsals during the month of March and stages the performance in June/July. Performances may be in more than one location. This is normally a two-act drama with a longer rehearsal schedule than the Summer Show. There are attendance requirements for the entire rehearsal schedule. Make-up days and Optional Rehearsals allow more flexibility for family schedule conflicts. There may be more than one rehearsal each week early in the show, but one is usually optional. All shows have a very busy and involved final week of rehearsals. As with all of our programs, great care is taken to avoid school conflicts, but they do occur. The largest issue with this show is graduation/Peach Festival. WORKSHOPS/VOICE LESSONS: $ Fee Varies. Check with our office for dates and times. The Workshops feature specific instruction in different aspects of theater and performing arts. The age groups and fees are determined by the sponsoring organizations, and classes may be held at churches, schools or other, public facilities.
